Multisite is a new wordpress-based service provided by DSTI for the website unit system at ITB, many benefits from multisite ranging from centralized maintenance, ITB theme services to security updates.
Sistem Multisite menggunakan WordPress sebagai sistem pengelolaan konten / Content Management System (CMS). The Web Admin is responsible for managing the content of the website. CMS system and server management and updates themes be the responsibility of DSTI.
The Multisite system does not accommodate website creation in sub directories. Derived sites can only be accommodated as a separate website with a separate domain name. Domain Names will be assigned according to the rules set by DSTI.
The advantages of a multisite system are as follows:
- Search and search for cross-website information in the Multisite system.
- The work unit only needs to fill in the information to the website, the web manager of the work unit is encouraged to always update the website content and integrate the posts on the website into social media, after the display layout process is complete.
- Ease of managing themes, because themes are managed centrally, but units are still given the freedom to be creative in designing the appearance, managing colors, font types, and main images.
- It is easy for ITB executives to monitor the content of work unit websites in the Multisite system.
- The work unit does not need to manage its own web server because server management is carried out by the Directorate of Information Systems and Technology. This will also be effective in terms of security because there is no need to monitor many servers. is in the Multisite system.
