Overview

Are you an academic or an educator at a university looking for a way to scale up your students grading and provide them immediate feedback?

Join us for this exclusive event to learn more about MATLAB Grader and participate in a follow-up Q&A session with domain experts.

MATLAB Grader allows faculty, instructors, and instructional designers to create interactive MATLAB course problems, automatically grade student work, provide immediate customized feedback, and view the performance analytics for your class. It is also possible to integrate MATLAB Grader into your Learning Management System (LMS), such as Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard, etc., to automate the grading process even further:

  • MATLAB Grader problems are directly assigned to your LMS-class
  • Grades are automatically registered into the LMS-Gradebook
Highlights
  • Creation of MATLAB-based assignments
  • Access to reusable problem collection for instructors
  • Autograde student solutions with built-in/custom functions
  • Student access view and submission with immediate feedback
  • Individual and aggregate student performance analytics
  • Integration with your Learning Management System (Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard, etc.)
Who Should Attend

Academics and educators who are active in STEM education and are seeking to automate, scale up, and leverage digitalization for their didactical methods

About the Presenters

Dr. Andreas Apostolatos has been working at MathWorks as an Academic Application Engineer since 2022. His role entails the support and collaboration with faculty to optimize their curricula and research using mathematical modeling and simulation through MATLAB, Simulink, Simscape and the rest of MathWorks products. Andreas works with universities and teaching institutions in central and southern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Moreover, Andreas has background in computational engineering and his doctoral studies at the Technical University of Munich focused on integration of design and analysis of lightweight structures in coupled multiphysics simulations. During his postdoctoral studies, Andreas worked on stochastic optimization for high-rise buildings subject to uncertain wind conditions with focus on rare events in the frame of an EU-funded project.

Dr. Andrew Redfearn has been working at MathWorks since 2018, initially as a training engineer. This role involved teaching a range of topics including image processing, app development, and physical modeling. Prior to joining MathWorks Andrew conducted research at the University College London on the fluid dynamics of human swallowing. This work was experimental and involved designing a robotic mouth and sensor system to simulate and measure non-Newtonian flow dynamics. Andrew is now part of the MathWorks academia team and supports academics using MATLAB, Simulink, and Simscape.

Dr. Federico Seri works at the academia team at MathWorks since May 2022, and he is responsible for the creating awareness of the MathWorks product portfolio at universities and higher education institutions in Italy. Federico completed PhD studies in Mechanical and Management Engineering at Università Politecnica delle Marche (UNIVPM) in 2015 and was awarded the title “Doctor Europaeus”. From 2015 to 2017, Federico worked as researcher at UNIVPM, and from 2017 to May 2022 at the National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG). The research activities mainly concerned “Building simulation” and “Smart Grid”, through projects within frameworks as FP7, H2020 and Horizon Europe.
